This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you create or visit a verified business storefront, browse our commercial directory, send customer inquiries, or use any of our digital services.
2. Information We Collect
A. Merchant Profile Data: When registering a storefront handle (e.g., neka.ng/yourbrand), we collect your business name, owner name, category, phone number, WhatsApp contact number, state, Local Government Area (LGA), email address, product catalog listings, and optional payment details (such as Nigerian bank account information or Paystack/RexPay credentials).
B. Customer Inquiry & Lead Information: When consumers message a business via the contact form or quote calculator, we collect the customer's name, phone number, email address, inquiry text, and delivery destination to forward directly to the merchant.
C. Technical & Biometric Authentication Data: For passkey authentication (WebAuthn), only cryptographic public keys and credential IDs are stored. We never possess, capture, or store biometric fingerprint or facial recognition data.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To host and render public business bio storefront pages and digital catalogs.
- To facilitate direct peer-to-peer commerce and instant WhatsApp orders.
- To notify merchants of customer leads and inquiries via email and secure dashboard notifications.
- To calculate accurate, localized Nigerian delivery fees using state and LGA matrices.
- To detect fraud, prevent abusive spam, and preserve platform security.
4. Sharing & Third-Party Processors
We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only with verified infrastructure providers strictly necessary to operate our service:
- Communication & WhatsApp: Direct links utilize Meta / WhatsApp standard API protocol.
- Payment Processors: RexPay and Paystack for verified merchant subscriptions and transactions.
- Transactional Email: Resend and secure SMTP relay for instant merchant lead alerts.
- Mapping: Google Maps Platform for optional pinned storefront coordinates and discovery.
5. Data Retention & Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of your storefront profile data at any time. Business owners can update catalog items, hide phone numbers, or request full account removal by emailing our data protection officer.
